Course Description: 

This workshop aims to support and promote positive wellbeing and to help with managing stress. Primary workshop aims are to develop awareness of wellbeing factors, to understand and manage stress and to develop awareness of resilience and positive mindset techniques. The topics have a bespoke focus to support the specific circumstances, opportunities and challenges of delegate groups.

Learning outcomes and content:

Understanding Wellbeing. Delegates will review their understanding of the concept of wellbeing and its various dimensions: general, emotional, psychological and social, as well as the intrinsic link between mental and physical wellbeing.  Understanding wellbeing factors. Exploring factors that influence wellbeing, including individual, social, and environmental factors. Understand factors that may affect (positively or negatively) their own or colleagues’ wellbeing cycles.Positive wellbeing. Delegates will have the opportunity to consider ways of supporting positive mental health and wellbeing and to share ideas and strategies with their colleagues.

Understanding and managing stress. Develop knowledge of stress and its effects. Explore “stress busting” practical tools and techniques for managing longer term stress

Understanding and developing resilience. Understand the concept of resilience and its components. Explore techniques for developing and maintaining resilience.

The power of mindset. An introduction to mindset. Explore techniques and strategies to develop and harness a positive mindset.

Forum and Q&A. Delegates will have the opportunity to discuss and to share strategies and ideas for promoting wellbeing and managing stress.
